Some words about us

Trans-Link offers a variety of services to its clients, including: warehousing, outdoor storage, lay down space, storage and distribution of material, trucking, loading to barge, truck and rail, trans-loading, property leasing, logistics coordinating and mooring. Our privately-owned port facility is equipped to handle all types of cargoes – from bulk to project.  Trans-Link’s wide range of equipment, coupled with its highly skilled operator with decades of industry experience, make nearly every project achievable.  The dock, which is MARSEC approved, boasts 600 ton crane pads along a heavily reinforced sea wall, more than 5,500 feet of docking berths, several “ride-on” ramps for loading trucks onto barges, and direct rail-to-water trans-loading.  Our service is second to none.  Vessels and quickly and efficiently loaded and unloaded by our highly trained team, all at very competitive rates.  Our goal is to provide our customer with its goods in a timely and cost effective manner.

OUR SERVICES

Warehousing

Trans-Link has over 150,000 square feet of warehousing space for the storage and distribution of our raw materials or finished goods. Our storage facilities are dry, secure and temperature controlled and offer quick access to Interstate 43 and Highway 10. The warehouses, which are located on the Manitowoc peninsula, are directly accessible from our docks and rail siding, allowing for short term and long term storage of trans-loaded goods at competitive rates.

Rail and Barge

Trans-Link’s wide range of equipment, coupled with its highly skilled operators with decades of industry experience, make nearly every project achievable. The service we provide is second to none. Vessels and rail cars are quickly and efficiently loaded and unloaded by our highly trained team, all at very competitive rates. Our goal is to provide our customer with its goods in a timely and cost effective manner.

Trucking

Barge Terminal Transport has a substantial fleet of trucks, trailers and our most valuable asset – our drivers! From pulp to steel products, we haul it all. Paired with our trans-loading, we provide full service full service logistical solutions to economically bring products to and from your facility.

Outdoor Storage

Trans-Link also maintains approximately 11 acres of outdoor storage areas for laydown and short-term storage of project, break bulk and dry bulk cargo. These storage areas are lighted and can be fenced in, and are all a short distance from our warehousing, docking and rail siding facilities.

Location

Our main location is in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, on the western shore of Lake Michigan.  The Manitowoc facility is comprised of 71 acres with more than 5,500 feet of dock wall and more than 600,000 square feet of heavy manufacturing space with heavy-lift bridge cranes.  Manitowoc is situated approximately 75 miles north of the Port of Milwaukee and 160 miles north of Chicago.  For this reason, our dock is the ideal location for inbound and outbound shipments of cargo.  The dock’s location coupled with its railway and highway accessibility offers convenient, economical and reliable distribution of cargo throughout the United States and North America.
